Behaviour and Pastoral Support
At St.Pius X School we pursue our vision of high aspiration and achievement through a clear and rigorous approach to rewards and behaviour management. We start with the assumption that children come to school wanting to learn and that they understand that they are expected to behave appropriately at all times. Teachers aim to notice children doing the right thing and use examples of positive behaviour to encourage all children to behave well.
Pastoral support is offered to children and families to allow them to meet their potential. Our Pastoral Care Manager and safeguarding team work closely with outside agencies to ensure that a joined-up approach enables the best possible outcomes.
Inspectors have commented that ‘pupils have a strong sense of pride in their school, feel safe and well cared for, and enjoy coming to school’ and the ‘The quality of care shown to all members of the community, both pupils and staff, is a huge strength of the school and is to be commended.’ Section 48 Inspection March 2020.
Each week we have a ‘Celebration Assembly’ where children share their achievements and are recognised for their learning behaviour and commitment to the values of our school.
